Life in Spring

Notebook with the words “Life in Spring” surrounded by soft pink and white blossoms on a light blue wooden background, symbolizing renewal and seasonal reflection.

On Preparation, Pruning, and the Quiet Return of Life

Spring doesn’t begin with flowers. It begins with preparation.

While our camellias and roses are just starting to bloom, here in Tuscany the olive trees are already being pruned — shaped carefully for fruit that will only arrive at the end of the year.

This episode is a reflection on that quiet act of faith.

On trusting what we cannot yet see.
On preparing for a future we cannot yet foresee.
On recognizing that life begins to move long before it announces itself.

In times that may feel uncertain, heavy, or politically and socially unsettling, nature continues its rhythm. The light stays longer. The soil softens. The branches are trimmed with intention.

Perhaps we are in a season of preparation too.

This is a gentle invitation to notice what is already growing — and to believe in tomorrow.
